Aqua Mare, the first real superyacht to visit the Galapagos Islands, creates a precedent for the most upscale cruising experience possible in the Galapagos with her opulent cabins and social areas. With only eight passengers per knowledgeable naturalist guide—the best guest-to-guide ratio in the Galapagos islands—guests may be guaranteed an incredibly engaging and unique private Galapagos cruise experience.
This 50-meter superyacht was conceptualized by the acclaimed Italian megayacht shipyard company Costruzioni e Riparazioni (CRN). In addition, her interiors and decorations were designed by famed Italian yacht designer Francois Zuretti. Seven elegant suites, an exclusive panoramic salon, a spacious sun deck, a modern open-air dining area, a luxurious Jacuzzi with sun loungers, and a beach club complete this exclusive experience aboard Aqua Marie through the wonderful Galapagos islands.
The Aqua Mare has 14 cabin crew and 2 naturalist guides. In addition, the yacht accommodates 16 guests, having a more personalized crew-guest ratio. This guarantees a more personalized and exclusive service.
Aqua Marie features extravagant indoor and outdoor social spaces. Its rooms have elegant, sophisticated, and contemporary finishes, with soft carpets and luxurious walnut-paneled walls. In addition, each space features sumptuous textiles and carefully selected objets d’art. Not to mention her first-class and modern equipment. The yacht was designed and built in 1998. And refitted in 2021 with the most luxurious decorations and the most modern equipment.
Our Beach Club is on the Lower Deck, at the rear of the yacht, at sea level. This quaint and sophisticated salon has comfortable and soft furniture, a coffee table, a small library, and a screen that gives access to our platform, where most of our activities such as swimming, diving, and snorkeling, among others, begin.
At the lower deck, on the yacht’s rear, this platform allows us to prepare with the maximum comfort for our aquatic activities. Of course, at the end of our experiences, this platform will also allow us to rest, sunbathe, have a cocktail, and have a great time.
This sophisticated setting is perfect for special occasions and quiet dinners since it blends delicious food with a sophisticated atmosphere to provide an unforgettable dining experience. The dining area within the Aqua Mare is a chic haven that provides a comfortable substitute for outdoor environments.
The Aft Outdoor Dining Room, with its expansive views, is the ideal venue for showcasing the varied and lively cuisine that is served onboard Aqua Mare. Savor meals together at the spacious 16-seater table or just relax on the cozy daybeds at the yacht’s aft while taking in the views of the nearby islands. It is on the upper deck.
The main salon, which is astonishingly large and has floor-to-ceiling windows, is the focal point of Aqua Mare on its upper deck. The room’s centerpiece is a stately U-shaped sofa on which visitors can unwind after their morning and afternoon excursions, catch up on expert naturalist guides’ lectures on two large flatscreen televisions, or curl up with a classic Assouline edition of Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species.”
Savor fine dining in a cozy alfresco environment on board Aqua Mare. Enjoy a gourmet adventure while exploring stunning scenery with your friends, family, or coworkers.
Cool down from your active excursions by plunging into the Aqua Mare’s six-person jacuzzi while enjoying exceptional volcanic views of the Archipelago. Soak up the warmth of the Galapagos sun on the lounge daybeds and while lazy afternoons away with your favorite show on the large television screens on either side of the jacuzzi.
Can you imagine enjoying an outdoor barbecue while appreciating the natural environment of the Galapagos? Well, at the Outdoor Barbeque Area, you will enjoy both. Aqua Mare’s chefs are ready to surprise your palate with the most exquisite meats and the natural beauty of the Ecuadorian archipelago.
When refurbished in 2021, the Aqua Mare will have 30% more volume than most yachts. That is why it is a superyacht with 7 large suites specially designed by the famous Italian yacht designer Francois Zuretti. In addition, the suites feature selected prints from Wallace’s and Darwin’s era of exploration, which refers to the dramatic volcanic landscapes of the Galapagos Islands.
Every Aqua Mare suite has a premium king-sized bed or twin bed. In addition, these have wall-to-wall carpeting. The interior is well-decorated in a British and Italian style. Lacquered cedar wood covers its walls with a large vanity and cushioned stool. The lighting is warm and subdued, with a plush sofa seating area. As if that were not enough, each suite has a fully air-conditioned, electronic safe and spacious closet area. In other words, Aqua Mare has 5-star suites sailing between the Galapagos Islands!
The Owner’s suite is a spacious room of 80 square meters or 861 square feet with a capacity of up to 4 persons. This is equipped with a premium king-size bed, wall-to-wall carpeting, fully air-conditioned and electronic safe. Lacquered cedar wood covers its walls with a large vanity and cushioned stool. The views that its large windows offer of the Galapagos Islands and the natural environment are unique and unparalleled!
Each suite has deluxe ensuite bathrooms with spacious walk-in showers and overhead rain showers. These bathrooms are also equipped with pampering organic natural hair and bath amenities.
Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, an award-winning Peruvian chef, offers a gastronomic expedition that highlights the astonishing variety of regional products in Ecuador. The best ingredients are sourced with an emphasis on ethical sustainability and support for regional farmers, fishermen, and suppliers in keeping with the spirit of Galapagos conservation. In addition, the kitchen offers vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Chef Schiaffino highlights and blends Peruvian seasoning with Japanese cooking techniques in Aqua Mare’s food, which includes upscale delicacies such as shrimp ceviche, grilled plantains, raw tuna, and potato Llapingachos.
The Aqua Bloody Mare, which substitutes the conventional horseradish and tomato flavors for the new local flavors of high Andean Mashua and tree tomato, is another example of the local influence in the Aqua Mare’s drink menu. Regarding wines, the wine list is completely South American, and it is chosen with the meal type in mind.
Born and raised in Peru, Chef Schiaffino is renowned for being among the first chefs in his homeland to introduce regional cuisine to a global audience. Appreciated for his dedication to quality, he has received distinction on a global scale from The Diners Club World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy for his creative cuisine with an Amazonian touch at the MALABAR and Ámaz restaurants in Lima.
On an Aqua Mare cruise itinerary, every day is an opportunity to explore a new island and discover its unique natural riches through the different activities that Aqua Mare has prepared for its guests.
Hiking routes allow visitors to explore the Galapagos’ deepest zones and see rare species. The knowledgeable guides at Aqua Mare are quite knowledgeable about the local environment, wildlife, and vegetation. Our two specialist Galapagos nature guides provide fascinating, enjoyable, and extremely instructive trips in the Archipelago. They will impart important information about the geology, history, and fauna of the islands, whether they are strenuous hikes or leisurely walks on the beach.
The Galapagos Islands are home to more than 9,000 different species of plants and animals. Some of these are unique to the islands, including giant tortoises that can live for 150 years, penguins that live north of the equator, iguanas that can swim, and a bird that can’t fly. Therefore, these islands are known as the “living laboratory of evolution.” The lack of predators in the region means that Galapagos animals and birds don’t feel threatened by humans. And this makes it possible to approach and observe them closely while staying safe. In conclusion, each island you visit on your Aqua Mare trip will present magical encounters with exotic life forms.
A fantastic way to take in the amazing richness of the waters surrounding the Galapagos Islands is to go snorkeling. The archipelago is home to several snorkeling locations with shallow, calm seas that are frequented by marine life. Underwater creatures in the Galapagos Islands are just as gregarious as humans as their terrestrial counterparts, providing fascinating underwater exploration opportunities. On our opulent Galapagos trip, get ready to witness placid sea lions and calm sea turtles swimming all around you. Every visitor to Aqua Mare receives their own snorkeling equipment, which includes a mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit, to keep for the duration of the trip.
The most convenient way for visitors to get from the yacht to the many excursion locations across the Galapagos Archipelago is in one of Aqua Mare’s two military-grade black boats. The sea breeze and stunning views may be enjoyed while exploring the islands on a tender ride, which is an enjoyable and unwinding experience.
There are places in the Galapagos Islands set aside for kayaking and other paddling sports. These calm seas provide the ideal environment for taking in the coastal landscape and marine life from a different angle. With eight top-notch double kayaks and two paddle boards, Aqua Mare allows visitors of all ages to explore independently and at their own speed.
